Join us for the fifth annual OST Developmental Assets Conference on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Kenmore Middle School. Sponsored by the Arlington Out of School Time (OST) Council, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and will consist of workshops and youth panels.
The theme is Youth Voice: Lean in and Listen and workshops will help adults in the community to strengthen the relationships they have with young people by learning ways to
- LISTEN to youth voices
- UNDERSTANDING youth perspectives and experiences
- VALIDATING their feelings and abilities.
Lunch and childcare (for children ages 3+) is provided at no charge.
* Arlington youth have told us (in the 2015 Developmental Assets survey) that 20% of them feel that they are valued by the community; 28% feel that the community views them as having useful roles.
This is our call to action – to build positive, supportive relationships with young people – starting with listening to them.
